Photo-Shoot Plan

Photo-shoot planning Sheet

Goal
In order for us to successfully market our band we will be having a photo-shoot for the actors in our music video, along with the band and their respective logos, trademarks and other paraphernalia along with our own. Our shoots will have to show the feelings and ideas in the music video and convey the same feeling as the band’s concepts to make sure the music video is as suitable as we can make it.

Cast List
Harry Lake
Rebecca Lilley
Michael Rumble
Aidan Andrew Bell
Josh Michael Martin
Daniel George Paige Barnfather

Aims
We aim to create an anatomical theme for the photo-shoots, reflecting a common theme in the genre we have chosen, preferably using body parts such as hearts, kidneys and others to create a theme much like the inspiration we chose for our band’s key ideas, concepts and themes.

Shoot 1
Shoot one we will start our anatomical theme by using a heart in a jar over the subject’s own heart, a surrealist theme helps us to show how the dark undertones of the music will come across, the song we have chosen will be the flagship song for the album and this too helps to bring across all of these relevant themes.

            Actors
                  Aidan Bell

                  Props/ equipment
         Jar
            Heart – animal
            Red food coloring
            Room to shoot in
            Camera
            Tripod

Shoot 2
Continuing our gory theme in shoot two with the anatomical-jars theme, this time we will have Josh pose in front of the camera with a jar over his kidneys and their respective animal counterparts in the jars in front. This continuation of our previous theme reinforces the ideas brought about by the narrative of the song and the album as a whole.

Call Sheet

What is Genre?

What is genre?

In music, the genre of a song is what category it falls into. The category is identified with the use of conventions, e.g. a rock song would be identified by the use of an electric guitar, drums, bass guitar and  the use of distortion. There are many genres of music and most of these genres contain sub-genres (a sub category), e.g. heavy metal has many sub-genres such as black metal, thrash metal and alternative metal.

When choosing a song to shoot a video for, genre is a very important thing to think about. This is because many music videos normally contain conventions of a genre. Therefore, when i know what genre I will be doing I will know what sort of things to include in my video. I will most probably do a song in the genre of Alternative Metal.

Here is a diagram showing a few of the most popular music genres as well as some of their most popular sub-genres.

Final Design For the Band Logo

This is the final design for our logo and will be used in the creation of all band related paraphernalia, it is a deviation of the original image design but, like in the creation, I am much happier with the absence of the central python head as it means that the band
