Opie picture
This picture has been made in photoshp to have the Opie look, with cartooned features and block colors to create a pop are/ simplistic design it stand out yet still looks recognisable, this effect was achieved by making separate layers or each body part and filling them in with block color. This technique is used a lot in the music industry and focuses on the simplistic ideas behind most of the images showing only block colour to make a simple and bold image.
I made this image using the photo editing tool, Photoshop, after we where told we had to use this software some initial problems arose, mainly I didn't know how to use photoshop. I toyed around with the software for some time to work out how to use the tools, after learning how to use the program i began my task, selecting my hair and face,

purposes of music videos
Purposes of the music video are wide but mainly to focus on certain factors, like...
- Advertisement- to show off the band and help them credit each member of the group.
- Appeal- to make the song more appealing and make people more likely to buy their album.
- Emphasise- to make the meaning of the song more prominent and get across the point.
- Educate- to show the viewer what kind of band they are.
- Illustrate- showing the viewer what the lyrics are saying if they might be slightly unclear.
- Industry standard- it is now the norm to have a music video, and unusual not to.
Andrew Godwin identifies 6 elements of music videos...
- Showing genre characteristics.
- Lyrics and images have a common link.
- the tome of the atmosphere represents in the music or visa versa.
- commonly used close ups to show the artist.
- notions of looking are often used.
- intertextual references are common.
These purposes of music videos are the guidelines for the industry and how most of the products they create are portrayed, these stereotypes can however be useful; they provide a structure that the audience are used to and feel comfortable with.
